The building will feature 10 operating rooms, 3 one day-surgery theaters with post-operative recovery facilities, and an intensive care unit. The building, worth approximately 140 mil. EUR, is scheduled to open in mid-2028. Four clinics will move into it, namely neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics and traumatology, and new operating rooms will also be built. The new building B of the University Hospital Olomouc will house several specialized medical devices, including angiography systems. These devices will be part of the radiology clinic, which will have two catheterization rooms and two X-ray workstations. The total number of beds is 273.
The pavilion will stand on the site of a more than 100-year-old hospital building, which was named Franz Josef.
So called "superpavilion" will have a total of 5 above-ground and three underground floors. The total built-up area of the building will be 11,420 m², with the built-up area reaching more than 204,391 m³. The total usable area will then exceed 42,966 m². The underground floors will include 153 parking spaces, technological facilities and underground collectors, which will ensure connectivity with neighboring hospital buildings.
The structural system of the building is designed as a skeleton consisting of reinforced concrete columns and walls. Foundation slab is supported by piles and reinforced with PSB® Punching Reinforcement.. The slim floor structure is designed from hollow core units in combination with composite beams from Peikko - DELTABEAM® Composite Beams.
The roof is designed as a green, retention roof and will be equipped with a photovoltaic power plant. Mineral wool and composite aluminum facade panels with a mineral core will be used for the ventilated facade of the building.
CE department of Peikko Slovakia has designed a total of 1,242 beams, spanning 8.5 km in length, with a total contract value of 4.4 mil. EUR. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in spring 2025, with completion expected by the end of the same year.
