Vollbild Schliessen Street View

The new parking house in Ørestad, which won first prize in a competition, is located at the corner of Edvard Thomsensvej, where its facades will enclose very different types of urban spaces and courtyards.

The architectural idea is that the building, with its light facades of a diffuse character, can adjust itself to the surroundings within the context of varied developments and urban spaces. A main idea is that the building in its entirety should not express itself as a parking house, but that the sight at street level alone communicates the building’s identity to motorists.

The facades are designed in white translucent materials with “greening” towards the courtyard and residential block to convey the desired expression, and help to bring the building in scale with the people living in the neighbourhood or just passing by.
